This week was pretty sweet, because both my companion and I were healthy. So we were able to work! Wahoooo!
We learned on Tuesday that we would be doing companion exchanges with another district. As I called investigators to set up appointments, everyone kept on saying they were out of town for the holidays, etc. So, for this split I did with another missionary, we had NO LESSONS set up. The morning of the split, as the missionaries from the other district were arriving, things went wrong with breakfast, it took longer than normal, as I was out buying bananas the missionaries called us, said they were lost, needed us to get them, we got them, and I wasn't showered or prepared or anything.
So pretty much, I was super stressed out at the beginning of this split. I showered, met with the other missionary, and said, hey sorry, all of our investigators are out of town. We will be doing a lot of contacting. Well, the whole point of this story is that the day actually went well, I felt super smooth contacting, we were led to some especially receptive individuals, and we even crossed paths with a member. Pretty much, the moral of the story, is that I learned that I can totally survive following the rules of the mission, and going out to just contact all day if there really are no meetings. I felt super happy and fulfilled after we finished our split.
I am going to TRAIN this transfer! I feel calmer than I thought I would. I do not know who I will be training, but there is a major possibility that it will be an English speaker, which I would love. I like the idea that I am looking down the barrel of 12 weeks of hard work, helping out a new missionary, and even becoming a much better missionary with this experience.
As we were saying goodbyes to members and investigators this Sunday, everyone was super sad to see my companion Elder MBuya go, and he is a great example of showing sincere love to everyone. We took pictures after church with the young men, our investigator Soeur Audry, and then as a companionship.
Love,
Elder Evans
